LED is short for Light Emitting Diode, it has an informal Chinese name — FAT GUANG ER JI GUAN. They are always appearing with the role of light box, signboard and the other indicator lamp in the various kinds of electrical appliance. Also it is the important part of the car tail lights, high-mount stop lamp and the daytime running lamps.

For cars, LED lighting (not just the headlight) has the seven advantages below:

1. Energy saving low cost: The luminous efficiency of LED achieves 80%~90%. For example, the general energy saving lamp, it is 4/5 energy saving than the incandescent light bulb, while the LED light is 1/4 energy saving than the energy saving lamp. The same daytime running lamps in the car, the energy consumption of LED component is 1/20 compare to halogen lamp. The cost of LED component is significantly decreases year by year. Also the cost and price is still decreasing with 20% range annually.

2. Ultra-long span life: The LED component used in car can all achieve 50,000 hours basically. While the famous car light supplier had already provided the LED component achieves 100,000 hours, convert it, equal to 11 years. Consider the operating frequency of light, no need to replace the LED component in the whole car design span life. In comparison, the span life of xenon lamp is about 3,000 hours. Also LED makes the shape and line of headlight become richer, and the resolution become higher at night.

3. Good durability: The construction of LED component is simple, impact resistance and anti- seismicity is very good, not easily broken, so it can adapt to different environment.

4. The size of LED component is small and compact, it’s convenient for decorating and style design. This is the big advantage of LED, and this adequately cater to the need of car factory on design, break the constraint of lighting system to the modern design, and let us own the more creative car products.

5. Fast response rate: It takes only microsecond to light up the LED. When using in the tail light and turn light, it can light up quickly and attain the better warning effect. When using in the headlight, compare to the xenon lamp and halogen lamp, the LED lamp has the higher response rate, and have the better guarantee for driving safety.

6. Low brightness decay: The brightness of Led is high, brightness decay is far below halogen lamp, be suited for using as lighting, stoplight, and turn light etc caution light.

7. Low-voltage direct current driving, small load, weak interference, low requirements to the operating environment, good adaptation. Not like the xenon lamp still need the pressure rise device (high pressure pack).
